The application for admission to the Master's program is done electronically through our on-line admissions application. Before starting the admission process it is advisable to consult the following information and follow the instructions described in Admission step by step:
Specific Admission Requirements
The personal profile for admission to the program would be that of a graduate in Philosophy with ethical-political concerns and an interest in the historical genesis and ideological genealogy of these concerns. The philosophical studies completed should be applicable to particularly pressing present issues as outcomes of the historical process, from a multipolar geopolitical perspective.
Assuming they meet the academic requirements for enrollment, the most suitable academic and professional backgrounds could be narrowed down to two situations:
Graduates in disciplines with knowledge and competencies suitable for participating in the current geopolitical debate (philosophers, political scientists, historians, art critics, scholars of comparative religions, jurists, sociologists, etc.).
Professionals in practice from the same disciplines or, if not, those who can demonstrate professional experience in centers and institutions related to international relations, political science, and contemporary historiography.
The Coordination Committee, or the delegated person, will conduct an interview with candidates not coming from the Philosophy degree or a related field, to ensure their suitability for the master's program (or, conversely, guide them in the philosophy courses they should take before enrolling in the Master's).
In this regard,
1. Bachelor's degrees in History, Political Science, and Law will be considered suitable for Philosophy in all respects, so the student does not need to complete additional training beforehand.
2. For other disciplines, whether in Arts or Sciences, students who wish to pursue this Master's program must complete additional training based on their academic records and interests.
Documentation to be attached to the application
Mandatory documents:
- DNI / Passport
- Academic transcript of grades of undergraduate studies (1)
- Curriculum Vitae
- Certificate of the average grade (2) [Required for students who have not done their access studies at the UAM].
