Description and Objectives
The objective of the Master's program in Contemporary Arab and Islamic Studies (MEAIC) is to train specialists capable of addressing the complexity of the contemporary Arab and Islamic world through interdisciplinary knowledge of its culture, politics, and societies, applying a modern, objective, and comprehensive methodology.
Students engage with the Arab and Islamic reality from within the intellectual and material production of their first protagonists, Arabs, and Muslims, who live both in their home countries and in the European and American diaspora. MEAIC pays special attention to the dynamics of social and political change in the region and its impact on international society.
The competencies acquired by students during their training are oriented towards both academic and research activities (the master's enables doctoral studies) as well as professional activities.
Thanks to a diverse internship program, graduates can enter the job market in areas such as cooperation, international relations, intercultural mediation, journalism, or business as qualified specialists in this geostrategic area.
