Change to Part-Time of Full-Time
Except when specifically requested, by default every PhD student will be enrolled Full-Time. PhD students may change to full-time or part-time by sending an application giving their reasons to the Doctoral School- (doctorado.gestion@uam.es; subject: Solicitud cambio dedicación), who will send it to the Academic Committee of the Doctoral Programme for its assessment and decision (see model application below).
Once the application has been admitted by the Academic Committee, the Administrative section of the Doctoral School will update the information in SIGMA so that the Maximum Deposit Date can be re-calculated. (one part-time year corresponds to 0.6 full-time years. Extension years count as 365 days wheter they are full-time or part-time)
Deadline for applications for a change of mode:
The application for a change in the study mode must be made during the last 15 days before starting the enrollment period, and will be effective on the 1st October.
On the second semester there will be an application period that will be effective on April 1st.
To be considered:
- Each studen may request a change to part-time or full-time twice.
- No applications will be accepted without documents to sustain the application.
- No applications will be accepted during extension year.
