Esther García García-Esquinas holds a degree in Medicine and Surgery (2005) and is a specialist in Preventive Medicine and Public Health. She is currently a Senior Scientist at the National Center for Epidemiology (ISCIII). She earned her PhD in Preventive Medicine and Public Health from the Autonomous University of Madrid in early 2014.
From 2014 to 2022, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher and Assistant Professor in the Department of Preventive Medicine and Public Health.
Currently, she is an Adjunct Professor in teaching some contents in Poisson Regression, or in Investigation in epidemiology and prevention of CVD and cancer and in An Introduction to Missing Data in Epidemiological Research as part of the "Master’s program in Epidemiology".
Her main research focuses on studying the relationship between modifiable risk factors (lifestyle and exposure to environmental pollution) and functional decline and the onset of chronic pain in older adults.
