The Library of Medicine was founded in the 1969-70 academic year and was the first building at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, to be used exclusively as a library.
The Library of Medicine is part of the Autónoma University’s Library service and its mission is to provide bibliographic and information services for teaching, learning and research.
The Library has a study room with 404 reading posts and a free access section, a CRAI classroom for training and self-learning and 3 group study rooms. We also have 7 consultation terminals, a specific terminal for thesis consultation and a workstation adapted for people with functional diversity.
There is a good connection with the Cantoblanco libraries through the Intercampus Loan (which allows you to obtain books on loan within 24 hours) and through the book reservation service. Other interesting services are the Interlibrary Loan (to obtain items that are not available at the UAM), the Appointment with the Library (especially specific to research) and our Training courses.
Regarding the collections, we have almost 50,000 books and more than 600 paper magazines subscribed. In addition, we also subscribe more than 4000 full-text electronic journals and some 400 interdisciplinary databases, among which are: PubMed, Cochrane, Cuiden, NNN Consult, CINHAL, UNITECA (DAE) and JOVE. We also have laptops, computer mice, scientific calculators and music stands to study more comfortably.
We adapt to your needs!
