Trabajo Fin de Máster

Mitochondrial and metabolic interference in interleukin 23-related autoimmune pathologies

Línea de investigación

Intracellular Signalling in Inflammatory Diseases.

Descripción

Our lab is seeking for a highly motivated candidate to develop his/her TFM in the fields of Immunology, Intracellular Signalling and Metabolism. The axis formed by interleukin 23 and interleukin 17 (IL-23/IL-17) has emerged as a dangerous cell-cell communication hub in autoimmune and inflammatory pathologies such as psoriasis, inflammatory bowel diseases or multiple sclerosis. We propose a comprehensive study of how IL-23 signalling regulates mitochondrial and cellular metabolism, and we expect to unravel new therapeutic strategies aimed to break the self-sustaining cycle of chronic inflammation in autoimmune diseases. To address our research questions, we use in vitro and in vivo techniques, including cutting-edge spectral flow cytometry, metabolic assays (Seahorse), quantitative proteomics and phosphoproteomics, single-cell RNAseq and murine models of autoimmune diseases.
