The Early Medieval China Group (EMG Group) is an informal academic group of young, predominantly European researchers who in the past have gathered on an irregular basis at European universities to share their research on topics related to the early medieval period of Chinese history. Since its first meeting in 2014 the group has expanded in the last years to include about twenty scholars. The EMC Workshop is characterized by its interdisciplinary nature: within the chronologically defined framework of early medieval China (early 3rd to early 7th centuries) the meeting will bring together research based on material culture, on literary sources, on diverse historiographical materials, and others, applying a wide range of research methods. The conference will be held in English. Those interested in attending the sessions, please contact Andreas Janousch: andreas.janousch@uam.es.
