I am an associate professor in Economics at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. My fields of interest include macroeconomics, labor economics and the economics of education. My current research focuses on the real effects of credit market disruptions and the benefits of dual vocational education. Since 2009 I am a researcher at FEDEA (Fundación de Estudios de Economía Aplicada), the leading think tank on socioeconomic issues in Spain and I am also a research fellow at IZA in Bonn. Furthermore, in recent years I worked as a consultant on labor market issues for the OECD, the European Commission, the Interamerican Development Bank and Spain’s fiscal authority AIReF.
