INFORMATION FOR NOMINATED STUDENTS 2024 -2025

Once you have been selected by your home University as an Exchange Student at UAM, it will be necessary to follow these procedures to be accepted as an Exchange Student at UAM. 

     

1. NOMINATION 

The first necessary step for you to be admitted as an exchange student at the UAM is for your home university to inform us of your nomination as an exchange student, within the following  established deadlines:

General deadlines (Academic year 2024/25) :

  • First semester and full course: From April 1 to 30th
  • Second semester: From September 1 to 30th
 
   
2. ONLINE ADMISSION APPLICATION
 
Make sure to complete your online admission application by following the detailed instructions below.

The application deadline is from October 1 to October 31 and will not be extended beyond this date.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE
The application procedure consists of two simple steps:
 
  • User Registration: Click the link to register. It is crucial that you use your valid passport number (without spaces, dots, or dashes), as this will appear on the admission letter necessary for processing your visa. It is important to remember that to ensure the correct processing of the information, each time you need to provide your passport number for procedures at UAM, you must do so without spaces, dots, or dashes.
  • Admission Form: Once registered, complete the admission application formupload a copy of your valid passport, and the sworn declaration. Remember to select the "Erasmus+ Estudios" program.

When completing the online admission form, be sure to select the faculty or school at UAM where you will take most of your courses. (In this case, Escuela Politécnica Superior).

Please note that you must complete at least 51% of your credits in that faculty, and you will not have priority if you wish to enroll in courses at other centers.

For Master’s and Doctorate students only*:
Please send the following documents to ori.eps@uam.es:
  • Complete transcript of grades.
  • Motivation letter.
  • Curriculum Vitae.
*Remember that final admission will be subject to evaluation by the coordinator of the Master’s/Doctorate program.
 
LINGUISTIC REQUIREMENTS
 
The language of instruction at EPS (Escuela Politécnica Superior) - UAM is Spanish at Undergraduate Level.

Students nominated for the School of Engineering are required to send a Spanish B1 certificate (B2 for Master Level).

A B2 level of English is recommended. It is not necessary to send a certificate to UAM, although it may be requested at the time of enrollment.

Remarks

In general, enrolment is subject to the availability of places in the courses places in the subjects

At least 51% of the credits must belong to the Faculty or school where you are going to study at the UAM.

 

SUBJECTS FROM OTHER FACULTIES

You can include in your LA up to 49% of ECTS from other faculties, although the spot will be not confirmed until the beginning of the semester (February 2025).

The process to apply for subjects that you want to study in other faculties will be done through an online form (it will be closed until February 2025).

You can attend the classes of the subjects until you have a definitive answer (after informing the teacher that you are Erasmus students and that you are waiting to be accepted or not in the subject)

The criteria for the subjects offered and the places available for mobility students depend on the guidelines of each Faculty.

To officially register your arrival you have to:
- Be on campus 
- Connect to Eduroam (wifi network, with your UAM email)
- Send the form through this form

BUDDY SYSTEM

     

 

If you are an international student at the UAM and would like to contact local students to guide and advise you during your stay in Madrid, register on The Buddy System online platform before arriving in Madrid. In this way, we will assign you a student mentor with whom you have an affinity.

Why participate in the Program?

  • You can contact your mentor with all the questions and doubts you have before arriving in Madrid and starting your mobility.
  • You will have support during your stay.
  • Your Mentor will be able to facilitate your integration among UAM students
  • You will be able to improve your knowledge of Spanish and learn about Spanish culture first-hand.
  • You will be able to participate in joint activities with your Mentor, both those that are scheduled from the program and those that you freely agree on
