IntroductionMathematics training develops and strengthens personal skills, as the ability of analysis and synthesis, abstract thinking and solving problems. These abilities are highly desirable at an academic and professional context, and also for elaboration in interdisciplinary teams.
Objetives
-To understand the nature, methods and purposes from different Mathematics areas as well as a historic perspective of its development.
-To recognise the Mathematics underlying presence in Nature, Science, Technology and Arts as well as Mathematics as an integral part of Education and Culture.
-To develop analytical abilities and of abstraction, intuition and logical and rigorous thinking through Mathematics study.
-To qualify for applying the acquired theoretical and practical knowledge to problems definition and approach and for seeking solutions in academic and professional contexts.
-To prepare for subsequent specialised studies in a mathematical discipline or from any science that will require good mathematical bases.
