Alberto de Juan obtained his BSc in Chemistry in June 2011 from the Complutense University of Madrid. In September 2012, he joined Molecular Materials group of Prof. Nazario Martín León to obtain his Master Degree from Complutense University of Madrid. He continued his research career under the supervision of Dr. Emilio M. Pérez Álvarez in IMDEA Nanoscience. His research was focused on the development of new derivatives of Carbon Nanotubes Mechanically Interlocked (MINTs) for their application in catalysis and material science. In March 2017, he obtained his PhD Degree, obtaining the highest grade “Sobresaliente Cum Laude”.
In September 2017, Alberto joined the group of Professor Stephen M. Goldup at the University of Southampton as a postdoctoral researcher. His main research was based on the development of new synthetic routes for obtaining Mechanically Planar Chiral Rotaxanes in an stereoselective manner.
In October 2019, he joined the Nanostructured Molecular Systems and Materials group at the Autonoma University of Madrid, under the supervision of Professor David González Rodríguez. He is involved in different projects dedicated to supramolecular chemistry based on hydrogen bond.
