The application for admission to the Master's program is done electronically through our on-line admissions application. Before starting the admission process it is advisable to consult the following information and follow the instructions described in Admission step by step:
Specific Admission Requirements
To get admission to the Master's in Microbiology, candidates are required to hold a higher degree (Bachelor's or equivalent) in Biology, Environmental Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Veterinary Science, or a related field. This requirement is particularly relevant for applicants from Latin American countries, as their higher education may not have a direct equivalent in Spain.
As part of the admission criteria, proficiency in English at a B2 level will be considered.
The Master's in Microbiology establishes in its admission rules that the total number of available slots will be distributed roughly evenly between the two itineraries (Environmental and Health) that make up the Master's program.
Documentation to be attached to the application
Mandatory documents:
- DNI / Passport
- Academic transcript of grades of undergraduate studies (1)
- Curriculum Vitae
- Certificate of the average grade (2) [Required for students who have not done their access studies at the UAM].

Optional documents:

(1) The academic transcript must be translated if it is not in the Spanish language. It will not be necessary to translate documents if they are in English, French, Italian or Portuguese.
