The application for admission to the Master's program is done electronically through our on-line admissions application. Before starting the admission process it is advisable to consult the following information and follow the instructions described in Admission step by step:
Specific Admission Requirements
The Official Postgraduate Program in Spanish Language is designed as a highly specialized postgraduate program, equivalent to the studies of the most prestigious European and American universities. It has two profiles or itineraries:
Academic and Research Profile: Aimed at training university professors and researchers in the Spanish language, as well as initiating them into research work with a view to completing a doctoral thesis.
Professional Profile: Enhances the skills and abilities related to the professional modules that make up the Master's program, as well as the tools, techniques, and methods of the main occupational fields in the Spanish language domain (such as teaching Spanish as a foreign language, professional editing and revision of texts, editing of corpora and glossaries, among others).
Students will undertake internships in prestigious institutions with which the UAM has agreements (Instituto Cervantes, FUNDÉU, Confucius Institute, UAM Language Service, INHISPANIA, New York University, and others).
Priority will be given to students with a degree in Spanish Language / Linguistics (or related fields), but for all purposes, a proficiency level in Spanish equivalent to level B2 established by the Instituto Cervantes is recommended. Students who hold a university degree unrelated to Spanish language studies must present a B2 Intermediate Level Certificate in Spanish issued by an official center, equivalent to ALTE 3 of the Association of Language Testers in Europe.
In cases where the disconnection between the previous degree and the master's program is significant, additional training or leveling options may be offered.
Documentation to be attached to the application
Mandatory documents:
- DNI / Passport
- Academic transcript of grades of undergraduate studies (1)
- Curriculum Vitae
