The application for admission to the Master's program is done electronically through our on-line admissions application. Before starting the admission process it is advisable to consult the following information and follow the instructions described in Admission step by step:
Specific Admission Requirements
- Submission of academic transcripts.
- Submission of Curriculum Vitae.
- Submission of a brief personal letter of motivation, justifying your interest in pursuing the Master's Degree.
- Proof of knowledge of English.
- Submission of a certificate of knowledge of Spanish language of at least B2 level, according to the Common European Framework, for applicants whose mother tongue is not Spanish.
- Priority criteria: Priority access to the Master's Degree will be given to graduates in Psychology, as well as in other related degrees.
The Master's Degree in Educational Psychology is preferably aimed at graduates in Psychology or Psychopedagogy. However, it is also open to graduates or professionals in the field of education. Therefore, up to 5 places are reserved for the latter candidates and two different waiting lists will be established.

Mandatory documents:
- DNI / Passport
- Academic transcript of grades of undergraduate studies (1)
- Certificate of the average grade (2) [Required for students who have not done their access studies at the UAM].
- Curriculum Vitae (3)
- Motivation letter
- Proof of English language proficiency (4)
- Proof of Spanish language proficiency at B2 level [Compulsory only for non-Spanish speaking students].
- Application of Specialization/Itinerary for this Master
- Access Degree: If you have completed your studies at the time of applying for the master's degree, you must attach the degree certificate/diploma, bachelor's degree, or equivalent (or proof of having applied for the degree) in the application.
Optional documents:
(1) The academic transcript must be translated if it is not in the Spanish language. It will not be necessary to translate documents if they are in English, French, Italian or Portuguese.
In the case of having taken Master’s/Doctoral studies, we recommend including them as additional documents to your application.
(2) If you have studied in Spain, you should attach a Certificate showing the average grade (on a scale of 0 to 10). If you have already studied at UAM, you will not need to submit this certificate.
If you have studied outside of Spain, you will need to submit the average grade equivalence issued by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training (see section “related links”).
(3) In the Professional Experience section, the CV should include:
- Internships (Practicum): those carried out within the training program of the studies undertaken. Specify the institution, duration, and the field of knowledge or itinerary to which they belong.
- Volunteer Work: experience gained in centers, associations, etc., but not remunerated. Specify the location, duration, and a brief summary of the tasks performed.
- Professional Experience: experience gained through paid employment. Specify the workplace, duration, and a brief summary of the tasks performed.
(4) If you do not have an English language qualification, you must provide an English language sworn declaration, which can be found in the download area.

(*) The academic record will be assessed based on the score obtained with the following criteria:
- Average grade obtained in the academic record (maximum score 4 points).
- Number of optional subjects taken related to the educational psychology profile (the score will be obtained by dividing the number of electives related to the profile by the total number of chosen subjects).
- Average grade in mandatory and optional subjects related to the educational psychology profile (maximum score 4 points).
- Completion of practicum and/or degree thesis related to educational psychology (maximum score 1 point).
(In the case of foreign students or Spanish students who have followed study plans that do not include optional subjects, practicum, or degree thesis, the criteria will be adapted to ensure that the maximum assessment score for the academic record can reach a maximum of 10 points.)
Other requirements for students with non-EU qualifications
When you have been notified about your acceptance on the Master's Degree, and your acceptance is based on a university qualification issued by a higher education institution not belonging to the EHEA, you will need to legalize the qualification via diplomatic channels in order to formalize registration, or by means of a “Hague Convention Apostille”.
