Applications for the Master's Degree will be carried out on-line through our admissions application. Before starting the admissions process, we recommend you read the following information and follow the instructions provided at Admission step by step:
Specific access and admission requirements
- Holders of degrees in Law or equivalent degrees in the case of qualifications issued by foreign centers (without the need for validation).
- Minimum B2 level of English (this shall be accredited by the relevant certificate of level courses or level tests).
- In the case of students whose mother tongue is not Spanish, a minimum level of B2 will be required.
Documents to attach to applications
Mandatory documents:
- ID Card / Passport
- Academic certificate of degree study qualifications (1)
- Curriculum Vitae according to the standard model (the Europass CV model may also be used).
- Declaration of average grade (2) [Mandatory for students who have not taken their access studies at UAM]
- Accreditation of knowledge of the English language at B2 level (if this cannot be accredited by means of a B2 level certificate, it may be accredited by taking level tests).
- Accreditation of knowledge of the Spanish language at B2 level (mandatory for students from non-Spanish speaking countries).
- Letter of interest, stating the area of Law in which students wish to specialize and carry out research activity.
Optional documents:
- Accreditation of knowledge of other languages.
- Other university qualifications and other research merits that students would like to be considered for admission (research grants, publications, conferences, etc.).
(1) The academic transcript must be translated if it is not in the Spanish language. It will not be necessary to translate documents if they are in English, French, Italian or Portuguese.
In the case of having taken Master’s/Doctoral studies, we recommend including them as additional documents to your application.
(2) If you have studied in Spain, you should attach a Certificate showing the average grade (on a scale of 0 to 10). If you have already studied at UAM, you will not need to submit this certificate.
If you have studied outside of Spain, you will need to submit the average grade equivalence issued by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training (see section “related links”).

In the event of any doubts, the Master's Degree Coordination Committee will directly contact candidates, and if considered necessary personal interviews will be held.
Other requirements for students with non-EU qualifications
When you have been notified about your acceptance on the Master's Degree, and your acceptance is based on a university qualification issued by a higher education institution not belonging to the EHEA, you will need to legalize the qualification via diplomatic channels in order to formalize registration, or by means of a “Hague Convention Apostille”.
