Curriculum information
The structure of the master's degree is shown in the following diagram:
The contents of this master's degree are organized into four modules that will be taught in chronological order:
Module I: Introduction to Innovation in Specific Didactics.
Consisting of a single subject worth 6 ECTS, this module will be primarily delivered through lectures. It aims to provide students with an overview of the current situation of Innovation in Specific Didactics and its genesis over time.
Module II: Innovation in Specific Didactics.
Comprising 27 ECTS, this module is organized into three subjects of 9 ECTS each, and each subject into three courses of 3 ECTS. Theoretical and practical, this module addresses specific contents related to the most innovative trends in the areas of Mathematics Didactics, Social Sciences Didactics, and Experimental Sciences Didactics. Each subject develops an essential aspect for each didactic area.
Module III: Design of interdisciplinary innovation projects in Specific Didactics.
The third module of the master's, consisting of a single subject worth 9 ECTS, has a marked practical character. It is intended to work with students on one of the most promising innovation trends today: interdisciplinarity.
In this subject, students will carry out interdisciplinary innovation projects in Specific Didactics, practicing innovation methods and attending interdisciplinary workshops that combine two areas. The thematic focus of the projects will be proposed by the practice centers, so the projects designed by students will be a response to a real need or situation in each center.
Module IV: External Practices.
The last training module consists of a single subject with two courses, External Practices, worth 12 ECTS, and the Master's Final Project (TFM), worth 9 ECTS. The practices will involve the implementation and evaluation of the project designed in Module III, allowing students to complete a full cycle of innovation, from the initial challenge posed by the centers to the implementation and evaluation of the designed project. The involvement of practice centers (educational centers, museums, foundations, natural spaces, etc.) is therefore fundamental, not only during the practice period but also in the development of projects from their beginning.

In accordance with the agreements by UAM’s Postgraduate Studies Committee, any optional subjects on which less than five students are registered, may not go ahead. The students affected by this situation will be informed accordingly so that they can register on other subjects.
The choice of optional subjects may vary slightly before the start of the classes due to adjustments to the Master's Degree teaching schedule, in which case students will be informed accordingly
