The application for admission to the Master's program is done electronically through our on-line admissions application. Before starting the admission process it is advisable to consult the following information and follow the instructions described in Admission step by step:
Specific Admission Requirements
Regarding the specific admission requirements for the Master's in Art History of the Modern Era: Classical Tradition and Globalized World, applicants must hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent in the field of arts and humanities (Art History, History, Philology, Philosophy, Humanities) or in the field of social sciences (Anthropology or International Studies). In cases where these students cannot demonstrate knowledge of Art History of the Modern Era or relevant professional experience, the Master's Academic Committee may require them to complete additional training, up to a maximum of 12 credits.
Similar to many international reference universities, specific prior studies on the contents of the Master's program will not be required. However, such studies, as well as any other type of prior knowledge or professionally related activity in the field, will be positively assessed in the admission process and will generally be indispensable for those wishing to delve into the research-oriented nature of the Master's program. In this regard, the optimal skills and prior knowledge for developing the research orientation of the master's program are those held by individuals with a Bachelor's degree in Art History or equivalent.
The Master's program will be primarily taught in Spanish, which will be the language used for all compulsory subjects. Therefore, students whose native language is not Spanish must certify a Spanish language proficiency level equal to or higher than level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages with DELE or SIELE certificates. The specified admission interview later on will serve to verify this level of Spanish.
Additionally, since the bibliography used will be partially in English, and it is likely that some of the teaching in optional subjects will be conducted in English (for example, when inviting foreign professors to collaborate with the Master's program), students will be informed of this circumstance, and it is recommended for all of them to have a training level equivalent to or higher than B2, although documentary certification will not be required.
