IntroductionThe Biology Degree at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid aim their students’ balanced and comprehensive training. These studies provide them a progressive theoretical and instrumental basis that will enable students to analyze: basic life processes relating to Molecular and Cell Biology, genetic and development processes, physic and chemical processes relating to organism activities (Physiology of plants and animals) and processes derived from organisms association and their environment (Ecology). And they will also develop the evolution, biodiversity and conservation context of biosphere present and past living beings, including human populations’ studies.
From the set of competences that the graduated student will acquire according to the Marco Español de Cualificaciones para la Educación Superior (MECES), the following are valued:
-Data interpretation ability for making value judgements that include reflection about relevant issues of social, scientific or ethic nature.
-Abilities related to autonomous learning, creativity through exercises and personal tasks, and also skills acquisition for adapting to new situations through collective responsibilities.
